MDM-CAP

For the latest information regarding MDM-CAP, please contact the product's client, Gil Taran.

MDM-CAP stands for multimedia decision making - content authoring platform. The vision of the platform is to allow novice case study authors to quickly create professional-looking, multimedia-based, and interactive case studies. However, the authoring platform can be tweaked to generically create a variety of different content types. Authors will be able to create the cases with no programming ability and no graphical design expertise required. Using a set of pre-defined case templates, a case study author can use the tool to add exisiting edited multimedia content into a case study and create a variety of interactive elements in the case connecting their content.

Non-proprietary development artifacts can be found under the artifacts link to the left.

Screen shots from the authoring tool are displayed below as of October 2008. Follow-on teams will continue to enchance the product and add more feautures.

The case study viewing tool. This view shows a typical scene from a case study. The learner has already walked through several scenes (similar to chapters in a book), and has been presented information and supporting multimedia and must make a choice. Based on the choice, the learner will be taken to one of several scenes with different outcomes.

A follow-on team is also envisoned to design, build, and deploy a distribution platform that will support distribution of case studies over the internet or via a company's intranet.
