  • Document Lead: A document is created.
  • Document Reviewer: (step 1 of review) The document is reviewed for structure and content. The document lead integrates the appropiate comments and suggestions. See #Team Internal Review Cycle to determine document reviewer.
  • Team Review: (step 2 of review) The document lead then notifies the whole team that the document is ready for team review. Team members are free to evolve document on wiki as they see fit. Team should review for structure, content, and grammar/typos. Document lead should specify a date for when the team review must be complete. The document lead then notifies the mentors that document is ready for review.
  • Mentors: (Step 3 of review) The document is validated by the mentors and the document lead integrates their comments and suggestions. If the document is intended for the mentors or the team only, return to step 2 and the process terminates here when no more feedback is received from the mentors.
  • Customer Manager, Client: (step 4 and 5 of review) If the document is for the client, the customer manager reviews before sending to the customer and document lead integrates feedback from the customer manager. Customer manager then takes care of sending the document to the client and eliciting any feedback they may have. If feedback is received from the client, the customer manager sends the feedback to the document lead for integration and the process returns to step 4. The process terminates here when the client has no more feedback.

Team Internal Review Cycle

Table 1 below is the general review order.

  • Document lead always initiates the start of the review by informing the next person on the list.
  • To determine next person on the list, the document lead looks on the list for their role under which the document is being created. The next role on the list that is not held by the document lead is the document reviewer for the document. The list is cyclic, so if the document reviewer is not defined when role 5 is reached, go back to the top of the list.
