SUBMITTING DEFECTS TO CLEARQUEST VIA EMAIL

 

Clearquest allows users to submit defects via regular email. This is achieved by sending an email to a specific email address. The email MUST contain very specific information otherwise the ‘email reader’ provided with Clearquest will not be able to parse the email correctly.

 

The format of the Email is as follows:

 

Email Address used to submit defects : cqsubmit@cs.cmu.edu

 

The Subject line must be   “defect submit”

 

The body MUST contain the following information (if information is not provided, defect will not be recorded, and you will be notified via an email rejection letter):

Note : These fields are not case sensitive.

 

 

BEST PRACTICES:

1.)    The best practice for this activity would be to save a ‘daft’ email, and copy it whenever you want to submit a new defect.

2.)    Clearquest will check ‘cqsubmit@cs.cmu.edu’ once every 15 minutes. So you may not see your posted defect for upto 15minutes.
