Follow-Up

1

It is not known whether the write/delete capability will be included; customer might be dissatisfied.

2

3

· Start earlier than expected
· Build certutil (certificate utility found on the Mozilla web site) and find source code involved in write/delete options
· Start with delete which seems easier and will give us experience

· Certutil was built. Even though the source code was not converted directly, it did give a lot of pointers to what had to be done.
· Delete capability was completed July 27th, 2001.

2

Berkeley DB API will be ported without complete functional understanding; might replicate bugs ?make debugging difficult.

3

2

3

· Intense unit and integration testing
· Testing with Netscape databases that will require handling of large amount of certificates and different record types and keys

· BerkeleyDBManager has been tested with NetscapeKeyStore and has worked well.
· Several bugs have been found and fixed.

3

There is no historical data for productivity for this project; time estimates could be optimistic.

2

2

3

· Project tracking
· Earned value
· Weekly task assignment re-evaluation and schedule monitoring

· It has been very difficult to estimate due to the differences in the code that needs to be converted.

4

Not enough people on the team to be comfortable with the development schedule; not enough time.

2

2

2

· Assign team members to tasks where they have the most experience and feel most comfortable with.

· The Summer semester is complicated due to distractions coming from visiting students, courses, and interview processes.

5

There will be no assigned technical writer in the summer ?we have to fit into the schedule of the SEI technical writer; take longer than planned.

2

1

· Delivery date moved to August 3, 2001
· Contacted John Foreman for review on July 17, 2001

· On August 3, 2001 the TN will be delivered for Claire Dixon, but the process until actual publication might take 4 to 6 weeks.
· Grace will be responsible for the follow-up on the publication process.
